Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional in Staten Island, NY to prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses, interview clients, and identify tax savings opportunities.

As part of our team, you'll deliver consultative service, leverage leading training and technology, and earn competitive hourly pay with incentive plans, while working in-person at a local H&R Block office.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of tax prep/related experience (individual and business).
• Experience in client-facing, consultative or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to assess financial situations and tax implications.
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Offer IRS support, notices, and audit guidance as needed.
