Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to guide clients through complex tax situations and prepare returns for individuals and businesses. You will conduct in-depth client interviews, offer personalized recommendations, and help clients maximize savings while delivering empathetic service.

Qualifications

• Must complete the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must meet continuing education and IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide recommendations.
• Build client relationships with empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
