Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complete, accurate returns for individuals and businesses, and to interview clients for tailored tax guidance.

You will build trusted relationships, identify savings opportunities, and support clients with notices and audits, backed by strong training and technology. This role is in-person at a local H&R Block office and offers an incentive plan alongside a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; continuing education to meet IRS/state requirements
• 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping including individual and business returns
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field; CPA/EA or IRS Circular 230 credential

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities and product offerings
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members to foster a positive, client-focused office environment
