Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional in Utah. You will prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, interview clients to understand their financial situations, and offer tailored recommendations and tax-saving opportunities.

You’ll build trusted client relationships while delivering consultative service and supporting IRS inquiries. The role is in-person at a local H&R Block office, with competitive hourly pay and an incentive plan to reward impact

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related field.
• Experience in client-facing or advisory roles.
• Strong written and verbal communication; explain tax concepts clearly.
• Compliance with continuing education and IRS/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and life changes.
• Provide personalized recommendations and tax-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with team and deliver empathetic, consultative service.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
