Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to assist clients with complex tax scenarios at a local tax office. You will prepare accurate returns, interview clients to understand their finances, and offer personalized recommendations while leveraging H&R Block training and technology.

In this in-person role, you’ll build lasting client relationships, identify tax-saving opportunities, and support clients through IRS notices and audits as needed.

Qualifications

• - Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment 1.
• - Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• - Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• - Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• - Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• - High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications, and provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
