Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional in Texas to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses. You will interview clients to understand financial situations, then provide clear, personalized recommendations and tax savings opportunities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications, then provide recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and HR Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
