Qualifications

• 1 year of tax prep or related experience, including individual and business returns
• Experience in client-facing, consultative roles
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete IRS/state CE requirements and stay compliant
• HS diploma or GED or equivalent is required
• Preferred: bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) or IRS Circular 230 credential is a plus
• Experience with complex returns, tax planning, or audit support
• Familiarity with GoSystem or UltraTax software and AI tools

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and provide personalized recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, notices, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
