Job summary

H&R Block in West Virginia is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, conduct in-depth client interviews, and offer personalized recommendations backed by strong tax knowledge.

You will build trusted client relationships, identify savings opportunities, and deliver compliant tax services while leveraging industry-leading training and technology.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including explaining tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and HR Block products
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
