H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and identify tax savings opportunities.

This in-person role offers training, competitive hourly pay, and an incentive plan tied to impact and growth in tax expertise. You will build lasting client relationships while providing empathetic, consultative service and supporting audit or IRS notice scenarios as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including explaining tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations, including individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and provide personalized recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a client-focused office environment
