Job summary

H&R Block seeks a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses, interview clients, and offer personalized recommendations. You will help uncover tax savings while delivering empathetic, consultative service within an in-person office.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in tax prep or related fields, strong communication skills, and must meet IRS/state requirements. Training and incentive plans support ongoing growth in tax and finances.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
