Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses. You will interview clients, understand their financial situations, and provide personalized recommendations while identifying tax savings opportunities.

You will work in-person at a local H&R Block office, collaborating with the team to deliver empathetic, consultative service and IRS support as needed. Training and access to industry-leading tools are provided.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
