Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns for clients with complex situations, conduct client interviews, and offer personalized recommendations.

You will help identify tax savings opportunities, deliver consultative service, and collaborate with the team in a local office environment. This role emphasizes client-facing advisory work, strong communication, and adherence to IRS/state requirements, with industry training and an incentive

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications, and provide clear recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance when needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
