Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence. You’ll prepare accurate returns, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships with industry-leading training and technology, and a competitive hourly rate.

This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office and involves delivering empathetic, consultative service to clients while guiding them through tax implications and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related fields
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles
• Strong verbal and written communication, ability to explain tax concepts simply
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial life changes and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive client-focused office
