Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns and help clients navigate complex tax situations.

You will interview clients to understand life changes and tax implications, provide tailored recommendations, and uncover savings opportunities while delivering empathetic, consultative service. This is an in-person role at a local H&R Block tax office, with a focus on building lasting client relationships and leveraging training and technology to

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide clear, personalized recommendations and build trusted client relationships
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
