Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to serve clients at a local tax office.

You will prepare complete, accurate returns for individuals and businesses, interview clients to understand financial situations, and identify tax savings opportunities while delivering empathetic, consultative service. You will be supported by industry-leading training and technology, with a competitive hourly rate and incentive plan.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS and state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive office environment
