Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for clients with complex situations, both individuals and businesses, in a in-person tax office. You will conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances, deliver personalized recommendations, and help clients uncover tax savings opportunities while building lasting relationships.

Qualifications

• Completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS and state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations (individual and business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications; provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and relevant HR Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
