Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns and uncover savings for clients. In-person role at a local Block tax office, with training, technology, and an incentive plan to reward impact as you grow in tax expertise and service.

You will interview clients, understand complex financials, and deliver personalized recommendations while building lasting relationships and guiding them through tax implications.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide clear, personalized recommendations and build trusted client relationships
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
