Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and identify tax-saving opportunities. You’ll work in a supportive, in-person office environment with access to training and technology to enhance client service.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including explaining tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and life changes and tax implications
• Build trusted client relationships with empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
