Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. seeks a seasonal Tax Associate to begin a career in tax and client services with training from day one. You will meet with clients in person to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions at a local tax office, building strong client relationships.

No prior tax experience is required; the role offers hourly pay with potential to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows, including evenings and weekends during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
