Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional for a seasonal, in-person role at a local tax office in Huntsville, AL. You will prepare returns and advise clients, leveraging training and technology and an incentive plan that rewards impact.

Conduct client interviews, identify tax savings opportunities, and build lasting relationships while providing IRS support and audit guidance as needed. This is a client-focused, hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience working in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required; continuing education as mandated

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations, including individuals and businesses.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications; provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
