Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare entities and individuals' tax returns at a local office. You will interview clients, identify tax savings opportunities, and provide personalized guidance with the support of HR Block training and technology.

This in-person role offers a competitive hourly rate, an incentive plan, and a pathway to grow in tax and financial services as you build expertise and serve clients throughout the season.

Qualifications

• Completion of HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of tax preparation or related experience
• Experience in client-facing, consultative roles
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns for diverse client situations (individuals and businesses)
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications
• Provide tax savings recommendations and upsell relevant HR Block products
• Offer IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with the team to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
