H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns for diverse client needs. You’ll interview clients, identify tax-saving opportunities, and present clear guidance using leading training and technology.

This in-person role offers competitive pay and an incentive plan within a supportive office team. Requirements include a year of tax prep experience, strong communication, and ongoing IRS/state education compliance.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of tax preparation or related experience
• Experience in client-facing, consultative roles
• Strong verbal and written communication; explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED required
• Preferred: Bachelor’s in accounting/finance
• Preferred: 5+ years of tax experience; CPA/EA credential
• Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (Copilot, ChatGPT)
• Experience in consultative client relationships

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Conduct client interviews to understand finances and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and tax savings opportunities
• Offer IRS support, tax notices, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team to maintain client-focused office environment
