Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns and advise clients on tax implications.

You will interview clients to understand financial situations, offer personalized recommendations, and identify savings opportunities, all backed by expert training and cutting-edge technology. The role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office with a competitive hourly rate and an incentive plan based on impact and performance.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
