Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns and guide clients through complex tax situations. This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office in Jackson, TN, and emphasizes building strong client relationships through consultative service.

You will conduct in-depth client interviews, explain tax concepts clearly, and collaborate with teammates while leveraging our training and technology to maximize client savings and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• 1+ year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping (including individual and business returns)
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
• Offer IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive office environment
