Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced seasonal Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.

You will interview clients to understand their financial situations and provide personalized recommendations, while building long-term relationships and helping identify tax savings opportunities. In this in-person role, you will collaborate with colleagues, support clients through IRS notices, and contribute to a client-focused office environment while benefiting

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 1+ year experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication, ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for diverse tax situations including individuals and businesses.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications, offering personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
