Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence. You will prepare accurate returns, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships, backed by industry-leading training and technology.

This in-person role is based at a local H&R Block tax office in North Carolina. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of tax prep experience, possess strong communication skills, and are committed to continuing

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field (preferred)
• 5+ years of tax preparation, accounting, finance, bookkeeping experience (preferred)
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential (preferred)
• Experience completing complex returns, tax planning, audit support, or tax notice resolution (preferred)
• Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software (preferred)
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) (preferred)
• Experience in a consultative client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services) (preferred)
