Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate for an in-person, local-office role. You’ll gather client information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building client relationships and tax knowledge.

Training is provided from day one, with opportunities to increase earnings as you grow in knowledge. No prior tax experience required; flexible hours during peak periods and evenings/weekends may be available.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication and ability to explain information clearly
• Problem-solving and organizing information to identify solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based systems like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving to analyze client information with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
