Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services with training from day one. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions in an in-person office setting.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll earn an hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge. Availability includes peak periods, with evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
