Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join our in-person tax office in New Jersey. You’ll meet with clients, collect information, and prepare tax returns with the support of experienced teammates. No prior tax experience is required as training is provided.

You’ll explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build client relationships while contributing to office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
