Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate for an in-person role at a local tax office in New Jersey. You’ll meet with clients, gather tax information, prepare returns, and answer questions with guidance from experienced teammates.

Training and support are provided from day one to build tax knowledge and client relationships. You’ll work on identifying tax savings opportunities, explaining information clearly, and collaborating with the team to meet office priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in an understandable way.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and client-first approach.
