Job summary

H&R Block in New Jersey is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join our local office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and support, gaining valuable client-service experience.

No prior tax experience is required—as training is provided. You’ll learn to explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships while supporting busy tax-season operations.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving and ability to organize information.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Comfort with digital tools including Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to address questions or unique situations with guidance.
