Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare returns with guidance from experienced teammates. Training and support are provided from day one, and you’ll earn an hourly wage with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge.

This role emphasizes client service, clear explanations of tax information, and collaboration within a team to meet office priorities during tax season.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
