Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local H&R Block tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates.

You will explain tax issues clearly, identify savings opportunities, and help clients understand recommendations. The role emphasizes building relationships, teamwork, and client-first service, with training provided from day one and hourly pay with opportunities to increase earnings as tax

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course is required.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
