Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office. No prior tax experience is required; you’ll receive training and support from day one to prepare returns and help clients with questions.

Meet with clients, gather information, and identify tax savings opportunities while building client relationships and working with experienced teammates. This in-person role offers competitive hourly pay and opportunities to grow tax knowledge during peak season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
