Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in person at a local H&R Block tax office. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns with support from experienced teammates, and explain tax information clearly with recommendations that clients can understand.

No prior tax experience is required; you will receive training and guidance from day one, and you can earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Enrollment in or completion of required tax courses may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
