H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join our in-person tax office in Michigan. You’ll work with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and address questions with support from experienced teammates.

Training starts from day one, and you’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to grow as tax knowledge increases. No prior tax experience is required; the role emphasizes client service, teamwork, and a client-first approach.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
