Job summary

H&R Block is looking for a seasonal Tax Associate to join our local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns, and learn from experienced teammates while building client relationships. No prior tax experience required; training is provided and compensation is competitive.

You’ll work in person during tax season, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and you’ll have a supportive team focused on helping clients maximize savings and stay compliant.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
