Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join our local tax office. No prior tax experience is required; you’ll receive training and work directly with clients to gather information and prepare returns.

You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate and have opportunities to grow as you build tax knowledge and experience. This in-person role is located at a local H&R Block tax office, with responsibilities including meeting clients, explaining tax information, and identifying savings

Qualifications

• Complete HR Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience in a service environment.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to analyze information and identify solutions.
• Comfort with digital tools including AI-based assistants.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information with guidance and resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
