Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll learn on the job, earn a competitive hourly rate, and have opportunities to increase earnings as you build knowledge and client relationships during tax season. This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to address questions and guide clients.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
