Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office in Oregon. You’ll gather client information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training from day one.

You’ll earn an hourly rate, with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge. Availability includes evenings and weekends during tax season, with a 15–40 hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in a service environment handling customer interactions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills with ability to organize information and identify solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information about their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services.
• Collaborate with teammates to address client questions and needs.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities.
