Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates. You’ll explain tax concepts clearly, spot saving opportunities, and build strong client relationships through teamwork and a client-first approach.

No prior tax experience is required; training is provided. You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to grow as you gain tax knowledge

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
