Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate in Colorado. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with support from the team. Training provided, with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows. This is an in-person role at a local H&R Block tax office.

No prior tax experience required; you’ll earn a competitive hourly wage and gain valuable client-service skills through day-one support and training.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Preferred: experience in client-facing or consultative roles.
• Preferred: ability to work 15–35 hours per week with up to 40 hours during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
