Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to help clients with tax information, gather data, and prepare returns under the guidance of experienced teammates. This in-person role offers training from day one and opportunities to grow with the firm during peak tax season.

You’ll interact with clients, explain tax concepts clearly, and identify opportunities to maximize savings. The position is located in a local H&R Block tax office and requires availability for peak periods, including

Qualifications

Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course 1
Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
Problem-solving and organizing information
Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
