Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns with training from experienced teammates, and help clients understand their tax situation while learning on the job.

No prior tax experience is required. The role offers an hourly pay range and opportunities to earn more as you build knowledge during peak season, with flexible evening/weekend shifts and strong team support.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
