Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office in Ohio. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training and support from experienced teammates.

The role emphasizes client service, identifying savings, and using AI tools to help assist customers. Availability to work 15–35 hours per week, with up to 40 hours during peak periods, is required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving with organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
