H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services, with training from day one. This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office, meeting clients, gathering information, and preparing returns with guidance from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required; strong communication and problem-solving are valued. Hours range 15–40 per week, with evenings/weekends during peak season, and compensation is competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
Experience interacting with customers in a service setting.
Strong communication and need-finding abilities.
Problem-solving with information organization and solutions.
Comfort using digital tools and AI-based assistants like Copilot & ChatGPT.
High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
Prepare tax returns with training and support from teammates.
Explain tax information clearly and provide client-friendly recommendations.
Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services.
Apply problem-solving to analyze client info and address questions with guidance.
Build client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
