Job summary

H&R Block in Michigan is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join our in-person tax office. You will gather client information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions with training and support from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required, and you’ll earn an hourly rate with opportunities to grow as you learn. You will meet clients, identify savings opportunities, and explain tax information clearly while building strong relationships with clients and supporting office

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
