Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to help clients gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions with day-one training and support. In-person at a local H&R Block office, you’ll build client relationships and earn a competitive hourly rate as you learn tax knowledge.

You’ll meet with clients, identify tax savings opportunities, and collaborate with experienced teammates to deliver accurate returns while providing clear explanations and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
