Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in person at a local tax office in Hawaii. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with support from experienced teammates.

Training is provided, and you’ll answer questions while building client relationships. Availability up to 40 hours during peak periods, 15–35 hours per week during regular periods, evenings and weekends during tax season.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or client-facing roles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain information clearly and ask questions to understand needs
• Comfort using digital tools and systems (AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT)
• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
