Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in a local tax office in Michigan. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training from experienced teammates.

You’ll explain tax information clearly, identify potential savings, and use digital tools including AI-assisted processes. Availability during tax season, including evenings/weekends, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly
• Problem-solving and organizing information to identify solutions
• Comfort using digital tools, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving to analyze client information and address questions with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
